Fall is here!

Yes, I know it is Fall and we are looking forward to our overseed and the wonderful golf of Fall and Winter. But let’s look back at how much fun we had this summer. Yes, it was hot! However, the course was in great shape and we were able to reduce prices to allow summer golfers a special 10 rounds of golf, cart and range for $12.50 each. This brought out many new friends and tournaments. The two that I want to make special mention are:

First, our Summer Amateur Tournament from May through September, where each month we competed in a 2-day tournament to get our summer champions who are:

Flight I – Ray Madrid
Flight 2 – Bill Jordan
Flight 3 – John Freeze

Second, our regional tournament put 5 golfers in the National World Golfers Championship. Bill Criteser won a free trip to Thailand and will represent the US against 34 other countries. Hope you had as much fun playing golf as we did here at Sun City Country Club….

HOLE IN ONE WINS NEW TRUCK

Hole in One wins new truck! April 25th was a beautiful day. Bob DeGrenier held the first annual golf tournament honoring his brother, a man that loved golf but lost his battle with cancer last year.

This tournament held at the Sun City Country Club and it raised over $2,000 for the Cancer Society.

What a grand day it was!

One golfer, Bill Patterson also had a memorable day of golf. On hole #10 he chipped in for an Eagle. On hole #11 a 173 yeard par 3 Bill had a HOLE-IN-ONE! On hole #12 he made a Birdie.

As good as this was its not the end of the story. Bill’s Hole-in-One also won the tournament’s first prize, a new Silverado pick-up truck.

Congratulations to Bob, Bill and all the people that enjoyed a great day of golf while contributing to a wonderful cause.

many of the snowbirds have gone so we get a lot of good golf in before the hot season.I must admit I like it hot as I can get the extra 20+ yards on my drives.
