Our website is being contacted 3429 times a month and many people book tee times. In an effort to improve our service we are constantly trying to attract golfers that like to play a 3-4 hour round of golf on our well maintained course. We put golfers out every 10 minutes not the normal 7 which could lead to a 3 hr. round, but with the normal hit ball look for ball find ball most of us play it is more like 4 hr.rounds.We invite your comments please view our website at www.suncitycountryclub.org click on the blog and let us know your experiences and how we can improve our service.Let us know if you used our resturant or taken a lesson for our LPA teaching pro at Penny Pulz academy.
We will give a free round of golf to the person that gives us the best suggestion each month. tom

My wife, Cheryl, and I like very much what you have done and are doing to improve your golf course. It is lovely.
But, we want to encourage you to do one more thing. Install new Forward Tees, a set of Orange Tees. While these should not be limited to Seniors they would be nicely suited for use by many Senior Women and by some Super Senior Men as well as by some beginners.
Your Red Tees are just too long for most Senior Women. A typical Senior Women hits her drive a maximum of 145 yards. Her fairway wood goes less distance, let’s say 130 yards. Now let’s examine the distances from your Red Tees to see how many greens a typical Senior Woman can reach in regulation.
You have 4 Par 3 holes. Hole #4 (151 yds). Too long. #7 (91 yds). OK # 11 (120 yds). OK? #17 (107 yds) OK. Your typical Senior Woman should be able to reach 3 or possibly all 4 of these greens in regulation but may need to use her driver on #4 and her fairway wood on # 11. How many men are expected to use their driver to reach a Par 3 green from their tees?
You have 10 Par 4 holes. If a typical Senior Women hits a maximum of 275 yds in 2 shots (Drive of 145 yds and fairway wood of 130 yds) your Par 4′s should be 275 yds or less. Let’s examine the Red Tees on your Par 4 holes. Hole #1 (323 yds). Too long. # 2 (298 yds). Too long. #5 (257 yds) OK. #8 (233 yds) OK. #9 (292 yds). Too long. #12 (349 yds). Way too long. # 13 (256) OK # 14 (304). Too long. #16 (265 yds). OK #18 (363). Way too long. Your typical Senior Woman golfer can expect to reach only 4 of the 10 Par 4 holes in regulation with her good shots.
You have 4 Par 5 holes. If a typical Senior Women can get 275 yards with her first 2 good shots and we add an additional shot of 130 yards her maximum in 3 shots is about 405 yards. Let’s examine the Red Tees on your Par 5 holes. Hole # 3 (444 yds). Too long. # 6 (437 yds). Too long. #10 (437 yds). Too long. #15 (456 yds). Too long. The typical Senior Woman cannot reach any of your Par 5 holes in regulation from the Red Tees with her good typical shots.
If you want more Senior Golfers to golf more often at your course you need a new set of Forward Tees, the Orange Tees. The cost is minimal at first. As demand warrants and financing allows you could build new real Tee Boxes. But to start you only need new Tee markers, mow a circle and add them to your scorecard. With a little promotion and marketing I believe you will find a whole new set of golfers ready to use them and many of your existing golfers will golf more often. My experience is that many Senior Women who use Forward Tees are scoring in the 80′s rather than trying their best to break 100. When they have that much fun they golf more often. When they take only 80+ strokes rather than 100+ strokes they can play faster and better.
